ADMISSIONS


OVERVIEW:

The two-year full-time B.ED programme, spread across four semesters offers a comprehensive coverage of themes and rigorous field engagement with the child, school and community. The programme is comprised of three broad inter-related curricular areas : –
I) Perspectives in Education,
II) Curriculum and Pedagogic Studies, and
III) Engagement with the Field. Transaction of the courses is to be done using a variety of approaches, such as, case studies, group presentations, projects, discussions on reflective journals, observations of children, and interactions with the community in multiple socio cultural environments.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: -


The minimum eligibility norm for applying to B.Ed. Course is 50% marks in aggregate Graduation (including both pass and honours subjects)/Post Graduation degree/s. (% relaxation for ST, SC Candidates)


DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:


1. Following documents have to be attached with the application form along with self-attestation :
(a) All mark sheets and certificates from Madhyamik onward.
(b) Honours candidates shall submit the marks sheets for the whole course (all the years including the pass part of the course) and not only Honours marks sheet.
(c) Madhyamik Admit Card/Certificate for verification of age.
(d) PRC/PRTC – compulsory.
(e) Candidates who are not in possession of the same as (d) shall have to attach an undertaking to the effect that they will submit the same if called for admission. Otherwise his/her application will be stand cancelled.
(f) Candidates of ST, SC, PH, ESM categories and AR shall submit valid certificates in respect of their claims for reservation.
(g) Recent Passport sized photo

SELECTION PROCEDURE:


1. The admission shall be made on the basis of merit/index prepared out of marks obtained from Madhyamik onwards. The merit shall be prepared stream-wise (Science/Arts/Commerce) and category wise (ST/SC/UR/PH/ESM).
2. Mechanism of preparing the merit.

i. 10 % of the percentage of total marks obtained in Madhyamik examination.
ii. 10 % of the percentage of total marks obtained in H.S (+2) stage examination.
iii. 10 % of the percentage of total marks obtained in Graduation (2-year or Pass) examination.
iv. 12 % of the percentage of total marks obtained in Graduation (3-year) examination.
v. 15 % of the percentage of total marks obtained in Graduation (Honours)- it includes the marks of all the years: Part I & Part II. The Honours Graduates shall have to write their percentage of marks in of No. 12 taking into consideration the marks of both, Part I & Part II (both Pass and Honours, applicable to Honours graduate only).
vi. 5 % of the percentage of total marks obtained in Post-graduation examination.
vii. One (01) unit for M. Phil. Degree.
viii. Two (02) units for Ph. D. Degree.
ix. While calculating the percentage, the figures will not be rounded off to the next whole number. The percentage shall be calculated up to 2 decimal places. The second decimal place shall not be rounded off in consideration to the third decimal place.

INTAKE CAPACITY: - The intake capacity for the Two-Year B. Ed course determined by the NCTE is 150 for the current Academic year .
RESERVATION : Seats are reserved as per 100 point roster of the State Government.

HOW TO APPLY:-The Selection process is carried out in two steps.

Step I: FILLING UP THE ONLINE ADMISSION FORM AND SUBMISSION OF RELAVANT DOCUMENTS
Step II: Selection Process at S. K. Roy College,Katlicherra,Hailakandi,Assam : -
1) Short-listed Applicants based on scores.
2) Publication of Merit List.
3) Admission of the selected candidates.
